Huckabyebaby

As someone left of the aisle, Huckabee doesn't really scare me all that much. I don't have any visceral hateful wanna-kick-you-in-the-face reaction that most of the Reps cause me to feel. Aside from the snickers when someone says President Huckabee (come on, that's a funny name) I don't think I'd have quite the heartburn if he were the alternative to the Dem candidate. I'd be pretty ok if he won.

Not sure he has quite the charisma or platform to carry it off, but here's hoping.

As someone on the left side of the aisle also, I would have to say Huckabee does have quite a bit of charisma. As a second man from Hope, AK, he has Governor on his resume,
and did place second to the much better self financed Romney in the Iowa straw poll. I may not think much of his platform, but I think he is more personally honest than the bulk of the GOP field who hold similar views.

I may be going out on a limb here, and somewhat trolling under someone else's bridge, but of the set of this year's GOP Presidential contenders, Huckabee would stand the best chance of winning the general election in 2008. At least, IMHO.

Huckabee may be a dark horse contender who may well move up in the pack with actual votes. We can always count on the news media to back the front runners.

when someone says President Huckabee

Agree, and this is why he will not be president, if nothing else, just as Thompson's wife's hotness will prevent his ascension.

Lemon Law It sounds by your post that Huckabee is perhaps not divisive/offensive enough and therefore has no place in this election 🙂

I've never understood why Huckabee isn't doing better nationally.

I disagree with him on like every issue, but I certainly respect him a lot more than Guiliani, Romney, or Thompson.

Huck does seem to be a genuinely nice guy. He has shown up on "left" leaning shows quite frequently and seems more human than most candidates.
However, his way out, wacky, even crazy right wing policies would be too much for most Americans.
Though fatso Huck would have a hard time preaching "personal responsiblity" after needing a stomach stapling to allow him to walk thru a door.

I think that anyone who claims that evolution does not exist scares the bejeezus out of me.

Oh no, America loves the brain dead. This guy will probably win.

haha -- He's funny as hell

Seems to me the only persons qualified to be president are the ones who are doing poorly like: McCain, Richardson, Dodd, and Biden.

People are all caught up IMO with the Obama hype and the name recognition of Hillary.

well they are the most qualified. I personally like Biden but I'd prefer a jim webb presidency.
