Huckabee Takes GOP Caucus In Kansas

Makes you wonder how much of the Romney vote shifted to Huck. Huckabee was quoted as saying that "they might have a shot in Kansas" the other day. 60% of the vote to McCain's 25% is more than just a shot.

I still think McCain will pull away, but it could make the rest of the day interesting.

Kansas? They traditionally suppor the loser. If I recall, Obama won their support this year.

It's getting more painful every day watching your queen self-destruct, eh?

If nothing else, it may demonstrate that a stop McCain movement is possible. But the only ones in the "far right conservative block" happier with Huckabee might be the religious right. They still get a somewhat more moderate Huckabee or McCain on other issues.

So my take is that the "conservatives" most unhappy with McCain would be no happier with Huck. But might rally around Huckabee long enough to deadlock the GOP convention.
Somehow hoping they can then dump the both and sneak in some compromise candidate. And would end up looking like complete hypocrites in the process. Win or lose, they might be shameless enough to try. But they better gets organized now or they lose their last chance. And if they try and fail, beware of the wrath of McCain.

Kansas repubs are some of america's most rabid fundies... so this isn't surprising.

It's a big chunk of territory, but a small # of delegates...

"Conservatives" want to dump McCain, run Huckabee?

Oh please, Mr Wolf, please don't throw me into that briar patch... Anything but that!

Interesting poll numbers so far.

Huckabee is leading McCain by 9% in Louisiana at the moment and Washington is 1% close.

Huckabee is running the table.

McCain is being rejected en masse.

This will be embarassing for McAmnesty.

EDIT: CPAC Straw Poll, Romney even beat McCain. LOL

Percentage-wise, the difference was huge. But look at the total number of voters participating in the Kansas GOP causus-about 18,000. About 2.7 million people live in Kansas, a very Republican state. This was a miserably low turnout.

It was a low turnout, across the board, for the GOP.

It speaks to the fact that the base is unhappy with McCain. They'll stay home on Election Day as well.

He is so far winning in every state up for grabs today. Even WA, which says a lot. At least at the district I was in, there were tons of Huckabee supporters. My district had a HUGE turnout.

I told you so.

no one is getting 50% in LA , so that primary gets thrown out , LA has weird rules on the Repub side

just a small note from washington in my local caucus it was romney and Paul neck and neck with very little support for mcCain or huckabee.
but this is mainly a democratic county😀

problem with the caucus is that the turn out was very low for some states. tiny fraction of total voters. its pretty unrepresentative of a general election.
