But ah yes, Huckabee supporters may wish to point its its even a sadder day when

Us dimocrats are used to this from the Republican party lately. When you have a box of 100% Republcan nuts, no matter what you pick from inside that R box, you get a nut. Or a totally empty box as rational Republicans leave the party that left their values behind.

In a six-month campaign where every skeleton is dragged out of the closet (by chain e-mails or whatever), I'd say Huckabee has at least as good a shot as either Rudy or Mitt against the democrats.

As much as the tide has turned toward the democrats, Huckabee can give them a run for their money with his populism and his likeability...

uh, he is one of the worst on illegal immigration

"Every time there was any enforcement in his state, he took the side of the illegal aliens."
he supports amnesty
he supported illegal alien students getting free college tuition

Ummm.....you might want to read the issues section on his website.

I oppose and will never allow amnesty. I opposed the amnesty President Bush and Senator McCain tried to ram through Congress this summer, and opposed the misnamed DREAM Act, which would have put us on the slippery slope to amnesty for all

I oppose and will not tolerate sanctuaries for illegals. The federal government must crack down on rogue cities that willfully undermine our economy and national security.

I oppose giving driver's licenses to illegals and supports legislation to prevent states from doing so. In 2005, I signed legislation that prevents illegals in Arkansas from getting driver's licenses.

I know that securing our borders must be our top priority and has reached the level of a national emergency. I am as sick and tired as you are that it is harder for us to get on an airplane in our home town than it is for all these illegals to cross our international border unchallenged.

As a conservative I don't really care for Huckabee. He's a bit too strong of a religious moralist with close ties to the church and seems to have a penchant for higher taxes/regulation type big government. Not a great mix... I prefer a more Goldwater-Reagan brand.

And no matter who the Repubs nominate, its likely almost any democratic nominee will win the Presidency in 08.

The republicans are totally free to pick whomever they want. And there is zero evidence that there is any democratic reverse psychology operating on this thread.

Sorry to pierce your theory and delusion davey, but you repubs have a genuine problem that only better candidates will cure.

Wrongo Lemon,

Huckabee is far too religious to be a viable candidate, also he doesn't have the financial backing/support like Rudy and or Mr. Millionaire Mitt, if he is what is put up against the dems come election time you can be sure they would wipe the floor with him, and I would even extend that to the witch Klinton.

Rudy or Mitt are really the only ones with any chance in this game, someone like Huckabee only stands to be a modern day Ross Perot...another spoiler.

See my above post, against either of the two dem frontrunners a snowball has a better chance in hell than Huck does in pulling this thing through...Hussein or the Klinton would have a field day with him..

Highly doubtful he'll be the next Rep nominee..

Agreed. How strongly can these supporters be? Not very if they change this quickly. Wait for Guiliani/Romney to throw some punches at him, and he'll die down much like Thompson.

Then again, I could be wrong and the Republican electorate may very well be voting for whoever says that they are the most Christian, lol.

bingo. any other republican candidate will sweep the dems, this is the one guy the dems want to be nominated as dems have a fighting chance against him

I don't agree with this. Republicans don't have a clear runner like they have had in the past. With the NIE, Iraq, and their continued support for it, it is going to be extremely hard for any candidate to beat a Democrat.

I think the exception is Paul versus Clinton. Paul would tear Clinton up on vote history and economics, he would detach and actually feed off the negativity towards Bush, Clinton would react by acting like a mean bitch and pulling the woman card, and Paul wouldn't ever throw a personal attack and appear humble -- and the public likes that.

Dont have to worry about that because Paul isnt going to get the nomination. About a month out, the only three that are likely to get the nomination are, Guiliani, Romney, and Huckabee.

Well that might be because hes an ordained Southern Baptist minister.

Most of those tv preachers are Sourthn Baptist ministers. He also worked for one after graduating from Seminary school.

It seems people are knocking Huckabee on his fiscal credintials.

The problem is they arent valid attacks.

Arkansas is one of the poorest states in the country. Huckabee improved Arkansas, while taxing more, and spending less. Dig deeper into his record in Arkansas and you will see he did a damn good job and thats not factoring in what he was working with.

Theres a reason he was voted Friend of the Taxpayer and Top 5 Governor during his terms as Governer of Ark.

He has two liabilities, the Dummand case and his religiousity. Its the later thats going to torpedo him.

Did he support illegal alien students getting free college tuition or he supported the children of illegal alien students getting free college tuition?

Yes, there is a difference.

And in case you didn't know, the scholarship was based on merit.

Go, Huck, go!
Get the nomination!

Of course, that would guarantee a Democratic would win!

Given a choice between Rudy and Hillary, I'd take her. Given a choice between Huck and Hillary I'd pick him.

I'm not the only one.

Absolutely.
