Hi guys,

just bought my netgear RT314.

The network layout is:

Cable modem--> 3com 10/100mit hub ---> 2 computers (2 ips)

Now, I want to add the router to the 2nd IP... and share 4 computers.

Yes, I know... it seems weird, but this is how it must be done...

So, now, do I use a straight cable to go from a port on the hub, to the uplink on the RT314?

Thanks

I have 2 ips... one computer must remain on 1 of them, and the other 4 must share...

hmm

connect the comp that needs its own ip, directly to the hub. then uplink the router to a 2nd port on the hub (either via the router's uplink port, if it has one...or thru the hub's uplink port) and assign the 2nd ip to the router. then connect the rest of your comps directly to the router.

that should do it
:D
