Hub choice?

If my company's network is comprised of all 10mbps hubs, but I have 2 computers in my office that are connected with a 10/100 hub which is uplinked to the rest of the companie's network, will those two computers still talk to each other at 100mbps? Or will the hub only work in 10mbps mode cause that's what the uplink port is connecting to? Thank your for all your help in advance.

If both machines are connected to a dual speed hub and they are getting 100Mbps link, then they will talk to eachother at 100Mbps. That is the point of the dual speed hub, it allows devices at different speeds to communicate.

yeah, the 2 computers should talk at 100, it's just when they go out to the 10 mbps network, they're gonna slow down

next time though, you might want to ask this over in the networking forum

I imagine you already know this, but I think it is worth mentioning that your NICs must also support 100 Mbps.
