I have a Linksys 5 port Hub, and a Netgear NIC. Both 100Mbs compat.
This is the problem:
-I plug in my Belkin 14' CAT5e cable from my NIC to the Hub, the light on the NIC comes on, and it filckers (the book says its either sending/receiving) but it does it constantly. Even when its not.
So I try a different brand cable
-I Plug in my QuickPort Media 15' CAT5e cable from my NIC to the Hub, the light only flickers when its sending/receiving....
Why is it doing this with that other cable? its not that specific cable, because i tried 2 other cables, same brand and same type and it still flickers!?

Ok I think I figured it out..
The Belkin cables have a thicker coating around the heads, and its weighing down on the NIC, but if I hold the cable in tight, the connection is fine.... any way to fix this?

I hate to say this but... buy a crimper and start makin' your own.

This way if there's a bad end you can just cut it back. I only buy short cables if they are real cheap and have cool colors.

And as always this is just MHO.

Never seen the exact cables your talking about, but I've had similar problems in the past. Can you remove the molding?
