I've gotten two invitations to join this site from someone on my MSN list who I never talk to.. I've gotten one from my cousin who would never send something like this.. and this past monday I got one from my cousin whos in Mexico and not near any computers.. Whats the deal with it?

"'Cousins name' has invited you to join 'cousins name' mobile friends' network.

Just some website exploiting a 'bug' in MSN? mining addresses and spamming users?

yeah I've gotten 1 from someone who's been MIA since 2002... didn't choose to sign up because I have too many of these "friends network" accounts... I have no idea what this is good for anyway... how does it work ?

I also got 1 from someone I know pretty well... but again haven't signed up... maybe I should ask about it first...

Yeah. Myt GF had this from a friend of hers in Colombia. The friend never sent it...

How scary, because they got my cousin's name down.

Don't sign up. It's sms spam. I signed up cause a friend invited me. I had 4 text messages in 2 minutes that were just ads. I got about 10 a day for 4 days before I got rid of it.

whatever you do, DON'T sign up. what it claims to do is link your email contacts with their mobile phone numbers. what it doesn't tell you is that it goes through your email contact list and sends these invitations out to everyone on that list without your consent. it also sends you random sms text messages that are tacked on to your monthly cellular bill.

some more info

just type in "sms.ac scam" and you'll see what i mean.

lol, just read the e-mail that I got, it's pretty funny now that I look at it.

I received invitations from them too. I almost signed up because the invitation came from a friend but the site didn't look right. It had all the makings of a spam site that I just never completed my registration.

I just confirmed with a friend that supposedly sent me an invite... that she didn't do so. This is utter crap.
