Oh for christ's sakes...

I'm so sorry, I posted it 4 seconds late.

If this is a fake, it's the best damn fake I've ever seen. The even tricked a bunch of hardware sites that are reporting on it.

Why? 8GB RAM is within reach of anyone with money. Depending on what board is in that system, it could have 4 * 2GB RAM DIMMs or 8 * 1GB RAM DIMMs.

2TB is easy too. SCSI allows for a maximum of 15 devices per controller. 2,000GB / 15 drives = 133.33GB / drive. Easily within reach.

From the pics I saw I didn't see enough slots for that much RAM, nor did I see room to house that many harddrives... that's why it's MORE doubtable than the 3.8Ghz, which, I'm pretty sure that some people on our very own forums can (and probably have) done.
It's not that it isn't achievable, it's that it's less believable that someone who would care enough about those specs would pay for it rather than do it themselves.

LMAO... have you looked at their server products? I mean, read some of the terms towards the bottom of the page for a "good laugh" - http://www.go-l.com/servers/servers/index.htm

Look at this picture from their site:

If you notice from their specs, they hype up DDR, but from the looks for that card, the notches clearly show that's regular SDRAM!

I'm probably a little late in chiming in over here....but to me it's an obvious fake. Browse the site and you will notice that most everything is just an existing product doctored in photoshop or some other image editing program. Everything's got a "pasted on" look, and you can see signs of compositing throughout.

The computers they advertise, for example, are just your regular old vapochill case with an lcd spliced into the empty drive bay area. The laptops are all pics taken from other websites and then a "windows xp action shot" is added. I was a bit confused by the 17" wide laptop, since it looked a little thin to be any current desknote I've seen, but it is in fact the hypersonic aviator (I read the review on Cnet somewhere). So yeah, everything here technically is "real".

Other fun little things I noticed:

Microsoft Money Product Box - charts/graphs (get cash back button)
Norton Systemworks Product Box - gears (support page)
Apple "finder" icon (support page)
Apple "face" Icon (superimposed over win XP wallpaper) (support page)
Geil Golden Dragon DDR (or some other DDR w/ gold or copper heatspreads) (product upgrades button)
and is that an old skool visor game cartridge on the "product upgrades" button?

The "winxp 4 l" page also contains a lot of fun icons you may have all seen floating about. Most seem to have been ripped out of winxp.

one thing I haven't quite figured out though is what monitors they used to create that "grand canyon series" composite cinerama display. The pics are pretty fake, and the aliasing around the "winxp screen shot" (on the monitors AND the laptops actually....) should raise your suspicions. And the base/legs look to be one leg that was copied and pasted....

Despite the fakery, I must admit this is a really nicely done and funny site. A little over the top, but cleverly put together. Whoever put this thing together really looks like they put a lot of effort! Nice job copying apple's site too, I thought I had gone to the wrong place at first! Even the layout of the individual pages is similar.

well, so I found this hoax investigation that pretty much says the same things I'm trying to say, with the added bonus of analysis of the phone numbers, addresses, and personnel! The section about "m. liebermann" and his adobe troubles is pretty amusing I thought.

here's the link!

Is there a laptop hard drive with a 16MB buffer?

Link

If this is a hoax, it looks like they were very successful.

yeah, its a pretty tightly made site, despite the fact that it would seem too crazy to be real without it having made huge news.

I don't know of anyone here is still following this but the site is going through some major updates.

Personally I was looking at the Hollywood laptop. 17" widescreen with a 9600 pro. They updated the specs so are current. All the 533mhz bus models are the Sager NP4760 whereas the 800mhz bus models is the new sager that isn't out yet. If it is a hoax, they are continuing to update their site.

A quick search of exuis.com reveals it to be pretty empty, and liebermann-corp.com is non-existant as well.

But I did manage to find out She rides horses, and her home phone # is 310-902-2276, she drives a 1992 black toyota tercel (License Plate # 4PNE095). Hardly someone who should be part of a big ass startup. And also not really the type person you would think would work for a company located in Los Angeles.

Also the address for the company comes up as the same location (8726 S Sepulveda Blvd) for a TON of businesses, most of which are blue collar / retail businesses. So its probably a mall or possibly a big office building. Either way, again hardly the place for a manufacturer of highly custom PC's
