Your search - OMGWTFBBQ did not return any results.

Suggestions:
- Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
- Try different keywords.
- Try more general keywords.

it sucks.

This is really cool. An excellent way to talk about shows and stuff in forums!

Our mission is to organize the world's information, and that includes the thousands of programs that play on our TVs every day. Google Video enables you to search a growing archive of televised content ? everything from sports to dinosaur documentaries to news shows.

Just type in your search term (for instance, ipod or Napa Valley) or do a more advanced search (for instance, title:nightline) and Google Video will search the closed captioning text of all the programs in our archive for relevant results. Click on a program title on your results page and you can look through short snippets of the text along with still images from the show. Visit the "About this show" side panel to learn when this show will air next.

Right now we're just testing this product, so you'll find programs only from a limited number of channels, which we've been indexing since late December 2004. You can expect to see more and more content as we continue to add new channels.

Search for programs from a variety of channels including:
ABC (KGO) * KRON * PBS C-SPAN
KQED * NBC (KNTV) * Fox News C-SPAN2
* San Francisco Bay Area stations

Our mission is to give viewers complete access to public affairs programming and we are committed to use new technologies to enhance the value of our services. This partnership with Google further demonstrates how new technologies will expand our audience and make it easier to conduct online searches of our content for information most relevant to them.

it lets you search by using the closed captioning data of the show. it also shows you portions of captioning along with images from the video.

Sweet... Too bad the media is so uptight that they won't let google link directly to the videos.

Yahoo Video Search
That's what I was thinking this would be when I saw this thread. Google's equivalent to Yahoo's video search. However, Google's stated previously that they had no intent to create a video search service like Yahoo since they worry about the problems of incompatability on the users end. People run into that everywhere though with other file formats. Why shy away from this particular format which is increasinly sought after?

This particular Google service is quite a disappointment actually as I don't have much use for this for myself even though I'm sure others might find it useful.

I'm finding myself gravitating back toward Yahoo a lot more now than I did a few years ago. Their image search now has a larger index than Google's. Their primary search index is likewise catching up and could possibly pass Google's in the current year at the rate it's growing. Their search results are now very strong and on par with Google's (in some searches I've found them to better.) The Video Search is a nice bonus. And their home page redesign has made the format much cleaner while still providing a lot of useful info.
