HTPC speaker advice

So my old Klipsch 4.1 speakers are dying, rear speakers don't work and sub started rattling. The satellites themselves seem fine. My HTPC used for games, movies, and tv is the only source I will have driving the speakers. Currently in an apartment so will not be playing at excessive volume or with much bass.

I don't have a set budget but I currently see the following options:

A) replace with something like Logitech z506 http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Surro...dp/B003VAK1FA/

B) add receiver + sub + center channel speaker and reuse existing satellites

C) add receiver + 5.1 speakers

Is it likely that option A is sufficient or will there be a noticeable increase in quality with either of the last 2 options considering they'll be more expensive. Any advice on where I should start my search if you recommend B or C?
 
I think a lot of this is going to depend on the amount of room you have, and if you care about upgrading in the future.

Those particular Logitech speakers would be a step down from your Klipsch speakers, but if you don't play that loud or care that much about bass maybe it doesn't matter too much. Otherwise I would think something like these would be closer quality wise.

Otherwise if you have the room, you could build a decent budget system with the Pioneer speakers that Newegg carries, which probably sound quite a bit nicer, particularly in the mid range frequencies, but would take up a lot more room and cost more.

You really probably shouldn't try to reuse your Klipsch satellites with a different center channel, because they wouldn't match. You could keep two around as surrounds, but you really should have your front three speakers match.

Most important thing is, how big is your room. And also you do need to have a budget in mind, possibilities are endless.

Random recomendation, go for a Martin Logan speaker set, something like this or this. Pair it with a refurbished 5.1 AVR, something like this. Total cost, approx $550
