Hi, newb to the forums but pretty handy with the computer machines and couldn't find what I'm looking for via search. Hopefully this is the right place to ask: I'm looking for an HTPC solution, either DIY or from a barebones/mini, for as close to $200 as I can swing. I'm planning to just put XMBuntu on it, and need to be sure it can handle HD and Blu-Ray playback. It seems that a couple of years ago the Acer Revo 330 was the way to go, but since it seems Intel and Nvidia aren't playing nice and nobody seems to sell Ion-based systems anymore, I'm unsure what the state of things are now -- is Atom (or whatever AMD/ATI offers) up to par yet? Could anyone provide a recommendation, either with some basic parts or something from newegg list below, on what might work? FYI I already have an unused SSD, so for most of the barebones systems I'd just need some RAM, which is simple enough.

This looks good to me. The only change that I would may is perhaps getting a mobo by a different manufacturer since Foxconn isn't the greatest. Something like this Biostar TH61ITX+RCH would be good, but it further increases the budget.

I picked the Gigabyte H61M-S2H for my HTPC board, paired with a G620. If you live near a MicroCenter, you can get the G620 for the same price as the G530 at NE.

EDIT; ooops... you are looking at mITX, the Giga is mATX.
