HTPC HDMI question

For video only...no. If you want video and audio you just have to make sure youe hdmi will output audio too (which it should if the c is newer)
 
Hopefully not. The only problem I've ever really encountered (which is kind of a big one I guess) is that it seems to lose the handshake when the PC is powered down into standby...as a result our HTPC runs all day now.

neither of my htpcs have this problem. One is hooked up to a receiver. The other directly to the tv. never had a handshake problem with either. main is a Sandy bridge I3-2100 going to an onkyo 607 (which goes to a panasconic ST30) the other is a SB i3-2120 or something like that and is hooked up directly to a panasonic 40" C2

I have this as well.

Sandy Bridge Celeron (HD Graphics) going into a Pioneer Elite receiver
 
I am using my computer with i-5 2500K and HDMI and I dont have a problem with the sound. However, I am not an audiophile and I dont use a theater sound receiver or anything. It took me like 12 hours to figure out you have to change some settings to output sound to HDMI. Win7 was not smart enough to do it automatically.

I am using the Samsung 40" TV in my signature, as my one and only monitor.

There shouldn't be any problem.
I had gone through 3 different video card all with HDMI port.
Never had problem.
Direct connection to a HP monitor made by ChiMei
 
I hook my HTPC to a 55in Plasma. I used a variety of cards with HDMI output, including Intel HD. HD5850 & HD6850, and all worked fine.
 
I currently have my HTPC hdmi out signal split to multiple displays
1 - 55" LED tv in my living room
2 - to my receivier in my theater room - from the receiver it runs to a projector
... both video/audio are great on both.

Current video card is Radeon 6850
