htpc and progressive scan

ok, so I'm probably gonna get a hdtv soon. i think the one i'm looking at takes 720p signal. now do i need to get a new dvd player, or can my pc put out progessive scan with a dvi output from my video card.

using a gainward ultra 650/tv it's like a ti4200 64mb.
