i dont think the x1250 will play anything except solitaire and really old games. for light or moderate gaming you might want to check out a geforce 8600 or radeon 2600xt. they should both come in at around $100. the radeons have an hdmi w/audio out via a dvi adapter. a fanless one might be a good option for a htpc if you are concerned about noise.

Well okay then, should I stick with AMD and get a different motherboard (no onboard video)? OR should I jump ship to intel?

Even in those rare instances when they get a review's recommendation thesedays, it still seems people are too afraid to carry the stigma of the one who bought AMD. :(
