I'm building a SFF HTPC soon, and I've narrowed the platform down to either the Shuttle XPC or the new Aopen XC Cube AV. I was settled on the shuttle for awhile but then i read the review of the XC Cube AV on Tomshardware and got interested.
A few questions: does anyone have any experience with the Aopen "EA65" XC Cube AV? A few things i'd like to know that I couldn't find in the information are: Can you operate MP3 and CD playback in InstantOn with only the remote and without turning on your monitor? Also, I'd like to know exactly what video and sound is onboard. Does it support 5.1 output, and is the video decent enough for movie playback? One of my reservations with the XC cube is the lack of support for other video/sound/vid capture cards, so this is important.
Finally, whick box would you choose for your htpc??
