HTC Touch Pro2 users - why does the alarm setting sometimes have a black background?

When I go into the set alarm screen, sometimes the background behind each alarm is white and sometimes it's black. I have no idea why, and I didn't catch anything about it in the manual either. WTF?

IIRC, it tries to mimic the last screen you were on. Might be the difference between going in through settings or through the app itself.

Android does some weird stuff like that. It tries to be fancy.
