HTC Sensation/Pyramid. Do. Want.

Wish this were releasing on Verizon. My Droid X is getting long in the tooth (for me) and I want a new 4G phone. The Thunderbolt isn't "enough" for me right now.

saw that, to bad tmobile sucks ass coverage wise where i am 🙁
that was why i had to leave them for ATT

I'd been kinda set on getting the G2x, but I guess that plan is out the window now. 😛

Just wish my HD2 screen hadn't shattered last month...I guess I'll shell out the money to replace it under insurance until this thing comes out. Definitely a better use of my upgrade.

One concern: Is it pentaband like the G2X?

If the merger goes through, AT&T will want T-Mobile's AWS spectrum for their LTE long before any 2 year contracts that will be signed for this phone expire. It would suck to be stuck with this phone. The bands posted in the Engadget's spec sheet don't look promising.

If it rocks both 3G's, I recommend this phone to anyone considering it.

I'm starting to get somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth for HTC build quality as of late. I liked the build quality of my Nexus One but it was on T-Mobile so it had to go. Bought and got rid ofa Droid Incredible pretty quickly because of the build quality. Bought and kept a Droid X for nearly a year and sold it when I bought the Thunderbolt(A decision I now regret. Should have waited for the Bionic). Power button on my Thunderbolt is starting to recess to the point where it is becoming difficult to press at all, installing the official extended battery dramatically reduces GPS signal. These two are very common issues that are design flaws, trading the phone in for another isn't gonna solve it. The actual signal reception isn't as good as the X either.

tl;dr- Not very excited for the HTC Sensation

My G2 (similar construction to the Nexus one and the Sensation) is built like a tank. I don't take especially good care of it and it's none the worse for wear

As for the Sensation, I love the looks of this phone and the specs, except for the bands, I don't believe it has AT&T bands so I have to agree with Rick, it may be a deal breaker. Also, I like a HW keyboard.

HTC and their damn back door that creaks like crazy. I don't undertstand why they continue to use a full body battery door. They need to make the battery door smaller.

Other than that, I think the Sensation is a great looking phone.

i'll probably get the g2x for now, since this isn't coming out till june at the earliest. plus cyanogen has confirmed that he will be working on the g2x

Evo 3D for me, only phone thats dual core beyond galaxy s2 for sprint so far, however since the change to Sprints stupid update plan, I have to wait till sept for my free update bs. Then I can get my 10 year membership and 1 year upgrades again! Maybe there will be another phone by then that has great specs?

this is what i want on sprint.. not the EVO 3D.

This is practically the same phone save for the 3D.

And since I saw it on the Evo 3D, that lock screen on Sense 3.0 is awesome. I definitely want my next phone to have that. So cool to be able to access apps quickly from the lockscreen.

there will certainly be AT&T bands later as there are 850/1900 customers worldwide. the question is whether there will be an official carrier AT&T version. IDGAF about that though.

Hope for pentaband T-Mobile exclusive as was rumored all along. That way concerns about the merger are gone and for AT&T customers who buy it outright, it's the only way they can enjoy HSUPA.

Why does it have the same amount of ram as the desire hd? In the engadget video you can see in the notification bar that there's only around 110 mb of free memory, bit of a downer.

to be fair they had just been switching between apps so there was a lot of stuff in memory. also, it didn't seem to be slowing the phone down at all.

768 should be plenty if Android is good at managing memory. you shouldn't have to overload the device with gigabytes and gigabytes of memory.

Even if you think on a PC, look at those Google Chrome benches. You can have 20 tabs open but 2 min of idle later, it'll go down into double digit memory only.... unlike Firefox and its whopping like 600MB of memory consumption that only keeps rising forever...

It seems 768 is the minimum for a great experience on Android.

I've had it it in the GBs. Seems like with FF4, its worse as the browser starts to lag. I've got 8GB of RAM on my desktop, but FF4 starts getting text lag if I don't close and restart it occasionally.

I'd say 512MB is the minimum, provided the bloat is kept low. Course, that extra RAM will be needed so all the extra UIs and skins can run. 😉
