Yea, I feel bad for not buying an HTC... I actually liked my thunderbolt once I put an extended battery in it, and now I hate my S4 and regret it...

huh? They have been hyping both. Maybe you are thinking so because the Moto X is newer. The One has always got favorable reviews.

Any numbers? The only ones I can dig up are estimates from the Verge:

Q1 2012: 7.4m
Q2 2012: 8.8m
Q3 2012: 8.7m
Q4 2012: 8.1m
Q1 2013: 9.6m (17.5% y/o/y)
Q2 2013: 10m (13.6% y/o/y)

I don't even know percentage wise if that's in line with general industry growth much less Samsung. And it's not a good thing they can't even match % growth when starting with such small numbers comparatively.

Sony says that it will ship 42 million Xperia smartphones during this current fiscal year (FY13) i.e. the year ended March 2014.

Figures don't look that impressive.
