Haha that would be a bit absurd, sure. The HTC 8x and BlackBerry Z10 both look great with 720p at that size. However, I'd like to see the same SoC, camera, etc as the flagship in the smaller size as well.

Honestly, my only question is whether an Adreno 305 is faster than an Adreno 220, otherwise this phone is basically a smaller HTC One X with extra RAM.

And for those wanting quad-core CPU and 1080p displays, I think you are chasing specs too much when Apple sells millions of dual-core sub 720p 4" phones. People are NOT buying an iPhone for the specs. People are NOT buying the GS4 for the specs. No one bought a GS3 in the US for the specs. It just doesn't work that way.

It's not just cores, it's features too. Some rumors have said the m4 won't have the same camera, for instance.
