Which is better? Both look very similar to each other. I know one runs Windows Mobile while the other is Android.

The specs on the EVO are better, but as you yourself point out, the biggest difference is each phone's OS. No one can tell you what is 'better,' as it depends on your own personal preference. I would say play with both and see what you like.

I have the HD2 and to me it only has 2 advantages.
- Its thinner. Weights 157g instead of 170g.
- Its a GSM phone. You can use this pretty much everywhere when you travel outsude the US.(provided its unlocked)

Plus Sprint is cheaper than everyone else even with the +$10.
If you look at the lowest possible plan with smartphones.(~ 450min, unlimited texting and data).
- ATT $90
- Verizon $90
- T-Mobile $80
Sprint is $80 but its minutes are unlimited mobile to mobile and they give you everything else too with their everything plan.
But the biggest kicker for me is if Sprint keeps their everything family plan.
$130 for 2 lines +$20 additional line.
So if you can get 5 people thats $190+($50 for the +$10 for 5 people).
That works out to be $48 each person. No other wireless can come close to this.
EVO all the way.
I'll be paying the ETF and jumping back to Sprint.

The Evo has a better camera (8mp vs 5mp, 720p vs not-quite-480p), and a kickstand. The HD2 is thinner and lighter. The Evo does WiMax, the HD2 does HSPA+ (both are faster than anything you'll find on Verizon or AT&T these days).

So the hardware differences aren't really that huge. The biggest difference is Android vs Windows Mobile. They both run Sense so they will look/feel somewhat similar.

Not entirely true on the price if you buy the HD2 outright (With current bing special final price comes to $292) you can go to a $59 500min unlimited data and text plan

My sister is on her 3rd HD2 phone. They keep breaking in ways the Tmobile people can't fix.

You're not comparing apple to apple.
You're throwing out Bing cash back, owning the phone outright and even more plus plan that doesn't pertain to getting the phone at a discount with the 2 yr contract as most everyone will do.
If you really want to play the discount game.
I can get 27% from my employer which makes the $80 fee down to $58.4.
Thats cheaper than T-Mobile even more plus $60 because they don't give discount to even more plus plan.

Your talking about an exclusive employee discount which it only available to you compared to bing which is open to everyone.

If you do the math the difference between the 2 year contract price and plan vs the full price (w/bing) and the even more plus pricing it take less then 6 months to make up the difference then you are saving $20 a month.

Now if someone does have an employee discount then it would make more sense to take the contract price and the employee discount other then if they didn't want to be stuck on a contract. Since we don't know what is available to the original poster i went with the cheapest way that is open to everyone.

Everyone has access to get discount to Sprint.
Anywhere from 10% to 27%.

NOONE can get discount from the even more plus plan.
Like I said you're not comparing apple to apple so lets drop the subject.

Also the EVO has HDMI out port, and a front facing camera. Battery on the EVO is a little better, and although both have the Snapdragon processor, the EVO's is a newer version.
