I think the manufacturers were expecting the public to be more forgiving of tablet shortcomings.

At the price points they're charging, people aren't going to be very forgiving when they're paying several hundred dollars and the damn thing doesn't work as advertised. :p

May have something to do with shortages for certain components, especially with the rumors of Apple paying cash up front just to keep the iPad supply chain moving.

They both actually look pretty good, if Netflix ever releases an app for Android, I'll likely jump on board.

That's my main sticking point. Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and just get an ipad. A $400 transformer looks perfect but no netflix kills it, refurb ipad 1 here I come.

Not sold on usefulness of Netflix on a wi-fi only tablet. I can see using it on the go with a 3G tablet or phone, but if I am at home, I am watching video on the TV and using tablet for other things.

I use it on nightshift when me and my coworkers are about the only humans left conscious in town. Pull up and park next to any number of hotspots.

Can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting a hotspot, no 3g isn't a big deal to me.

Just need Netflix and I would be all over this. I am always near a wifi area and don't need 3/4/g. Even at home with my ps3, 360 and plethora of computers, I would love an asus pad for netflixing at home, especially at night when I dont want my HDTV blaring out a movie and having the screen keep my eyes shot when i could cuddle up with the tablet and enjoy from my bed.
