HTC Desire vs HTC Hero

I saw those 2 phones on quick walk at lunchtime. Didn't had time to stop and ask so i'm asking you here...

What are the real differences, benefits of each one since they're approximately the same price...50$ more for the Hero...

HTC Hero is old, almost a year old now. No reason to get it as it's super slow. The Desire is more closely related to the Nexus One, same 1GHz processor and same many other things but with some differences.

The Hero is $50 more? Thats odd. The Hero is old news, it has a 500mhz processor.
