uh. thought this was a Lumia. But sure...

Even though it looks nice somehow I'm not so sure. I like how Samsung went back to its Galaxy S design roots with its Windows Phones, but HTC has decided to go with a totally new (for them at least) design.

I like the looks of it, and I also like the fact that its a lot smaller than the Lumia 920. Hmm...decisions decisions, superior camera and exclusive software on the Lumia, or the more preferred size of the 8X?

I thought it just looked like a different colored OneX.
It'd be better if they shared the body, as that would allow cases to be shared. As is, I hate the minor changes that are just enough to require new accessories.

HTC and Samsung are unifying their phones towards 2-3 size specific chassis, but until they finish it's annoying.

What's with all these bright stupid colors lately?

Nothing wrong with the colors. As always, you can pick the standard grey/black.

It's like complaining that cars come in different colors. Maybe we should go back to the Model T days?

Except sometimes the standard grey/black is not an option.
Or it comes 3 months late. (See Galaxy S III for reference.)

I don't mind that at all.

What do you mean "all"? This is the first smartphone I've ever seen that isn't black or white.
If so, then clearly you haven't seen much.

Samsung Galaxy S III wasn't available in black for a while.
They had that blueish color that just looked hideous. They called it pebble blue I think.

Nokia didn't patent the colors did they?
If they did, they patented a good one.
I prefer Nokia's Cyan blue color on the Lumia over this HTC "California Blue" or Samsung's "Pebble Blue" rubbish.
None of those stupid bright colors that almost makes one's eye bleed nonsense.

If you think that pebble blue was a "bright color" as you said, I would recommend you visit your doctor to check for brain tumors.

Where did I say Samsung's pebble blue was a bright color?
I would recommend you go back to school yourself to learn more English before suggesting someone to have their doctors check for brain tumors.

Pebble Blue is essentially a dark color, almost black.

One could argue HTC didn't have black phones. The HTC Desire and other phones had that gray front. Same with Nexus One.

But essentially they're meant to be "black" phones.

Your OP which started the whole conversation specified bright colors.

HTC Trophy is black, so is the HD7. Those are their WP7 phones, so it's a departure from that scheme now having different colors. It stems from the vibrant color theme set of the-interface-formerly-called-Metro, and not just Nokia's idea. Also what Microsoft runs with their overall logo and design look.

Samsung's Pebble blue is hideous. I never described it as being a bright color.
These HTC phones on the other hand are bright(especially the yellow and red).

That's your fault for trying to assume and connect dots in your head that were never connected in my post.

I see HTC has fixed the protruding camera lens problem on their phones.
Good news.

Of all 3 WP8 phones, Ativ, 920, 8x, I like the design of the 8x the most.
I like how they made the surrounding area around the glass uniform unlike the One X.
I also like the back where it tapers to the edge.
I also love the fact that its the first really premium phone with a 4.3" 720p screen.
My really only complaint is the huge bezels top and bottom of the screen.
