I'm confused by your thread title. I'm going to buy a 2.8C in about a week, and I was under the impression that it supported hyper threading and had 800MHz FSB. Am I terribly misinformed?

Does anyone know if there will be any performance gain for the sis655 motherboard (supports dual channel DDR400 ram). Cause I just bought a 2.4ghz 533fsb and wondering if I would benefit any if I bought the other...

Thanks

You might want to check with Abit's website. I thought only I875/865 boards are certified to work with HT/800MHZ revision C p4's. There is an article at THG of them getting the a P4 3.0C to work with an Asus Granitebay board.

If video editing is something you do a lot of, yes it will. Just look at some of the bencmarks in Anand's articles for video editing. A Hyper Threading cpu kills all the others. I would highly recomend using if its possible and fits within your budget.

Nice. The 2.6 looks the sweet spot for me. Now I just need Shuttle to release a new sff that will support it.

So, in other words, we're talking about the same processors? The C models? I thought since the release date above is 10 days after when my dealer said he'll have them, that AgaBooga was talking about some other new Intel porcessors. Sorry for the confusion, I must be tired or something.

Plenty of places are already stocking the 2.6C and 2.8C, you'll just have to wait a few weeks for the best prices.
