Hsing Tech mobo problem

I have 2 sticks of 128MB RAM in my system and I know that neither of them are dead. I've tried them seperately and together in every combination. I can only get about 97MB of RAM so I am thinking it is a problem with an old bios not recognizing all the RAM. I have a mobo from HSing Tech (pcchips.com0 and i have download the rom file for the correct mobo. What do I do with the rom file? Am I going abot this the wrong way? Thanks in advance for any help

Yes, it definatly sounds like BIOS issue. The upgrade utilities work on the same general concept, but have a little different command style. I don't really know about the utilities PC-Chips provides, but most likely you are going to have to put the BIN file on a floppy. First change the BIOS option to flash your BIOS. (Should have two options, flashable & non-flash. Something like that. )Startup with a boot disk, and get into a command promt without any drivers. ( Just to be safe. ) Then use the flash program to flash your BIOS. I can't tell you what to type without know what type of BIOS you have. Check with PC-Chips, or reply with a BIOS type, and you'll get a definate answer on that.
