HSF that comes with Retail/Boxed AMD CPU's ??

How would someone rate the HSF that comes with the "RETAIL" version of Athlon CPU's?


Are they up to par with say a ..... Global Win fop32-1 ?


Just curious if I can save $20.-$30.

no way, not even close to the fops. the fan is just weak on it. i dont know how good the actual heatsink is, but the fan imho sux.

No way can the retail HSF compare to a Globalwin Fop 32. If you're going to do serious overclocking, get a good HSF. With that said, I've read about people gettin 200mhz overclocks with their Durons with the retail HSF. I don't know about Tbirds. For peace of mind, get a better HSF. Cooler is better. Cooler is better. Cooler..

Depends on which heatsink it is... If its the coolermaster that comes with durons, not even close.

But wtih the T-bird 900mhz and higher retail sink, while not close to globalwin performance, it holds its own against most heatsinks.
