I would like to replace the small HSF on the VIA chipset on my Abit Kt7a... I know it probably not needed, but I would like something better. I picked up the Blue Orb, and it doesnt quite fit. The mounting holes do not match up. I have some Arctic Silver Epoxy that I can use, but I was wondering if there are any better alternatives to the heatsink question.. ? Also, if you have a URL to send me to, please post it!

Thanks!

I dont know... but if I measure from the center of each mounting hole on the Blue Orb I get about 2 and 5/32 inches. Maybe you can measure your HSF and see if the holes would line up.

the blue orb will fit with a slight mod. what you do is
cut away the outer portion of the holes, turning it into
a slot. I did it on my board. (see my rig). drawback is
you have to remove the mainboard to do it.

The Blue Orb does not fit on the A7V133 w/o some kind of mod.

It does, however, come with thermal tape which can attach it in lieu of the pegs and thermal compound.

Inteless - I assume when you say you made the hole into a slot, that you're talking about the hole in the MoBo?

No. I "slotted" the holes in the orb.

Oh my, I didn't realize the Blorb was that big. I have a FIC board coming with a Taisol CGK also on the way. With the size of that heatsink, will I be able to mount a Blorb in the regular holes? I'm now wondering if it will even fit now. FYI, here are some pics of the board:
