HSF for new build

Hi,

I'm gonna build a new i5-2500K/Z68 based system. Will be doing some light overclocking with it. Wondering what HSFs are worth the money. Priority will be price, improved cooling over stock HSF, and low noise output.

Any recommendations?

I don't have one yet, but it seems the consensus for most bang for buck is the Cooler Master Hyper 212!

Good luck!

Thanks. You mean the updated CM Hyper 212 Plus?

Yes that does seem like the concensus for most bang of the buck. I'm currently using an original LGA775 Tuniq Tower 120. I'm wondering if there's anyway I could re-use this on LGA1155? Would the Hyper 212 Plus be better, performance wise, than my Tuniq Tower?

Edit: I just found out that all the Asrock Z68 motherboards, which I will likely be getting, have LGA775 mounting holes. Guess I can reuse my Tuniq Tower after all! 😀

Haha, very cool! Anyway, good luck on the new build and have fun! I just built my first one about 3 days ago and man I have to force myself off it sometimes lol,

Take care and again good luck with the build!
Sincerely,
George
