HSF Considerations... Help

I'm thinking of purchasing a HSF for my Barton 2500+. I've been looking around NewEgg and this is what I've come up with. Will this work ok? Thanks for your opinions!!!

Thermalright SLK-900A

Panasonic Panaflo Axial 92mm Ball Bearing Cooling Fan,Model:FBA09A12H

Like I said above, I would like to have opinions on this setup and if someone has a better idea of what to get for the same amount of money that would be great. I would like to keep my noise down, that's why I don't want a tornado. Also another thing would it be safer for my processor to get the 900U instead of the 900A because it would be easier to put on since it mounts through the motherboard? Thanks for the help.

No, the 900a is better, because it doesn't mount through the motherboard. And any 92mm fan will keep it cool, because a 92mm can move more air, while turning slower. A Panaflo is a wise choice, if you are worried about noise.

myocardia how come the one that doesn't mount through the motherboard is better? I would think that the one that mounts through the motherboard would be safer to install so you don't crack the CPU. I'm afraid of putting the 900A on because I don't want to break my cpu 🙁 Also would the 900A suit my needs of trying to get o 3200+ speeds?

One more question too I've seen the ALX-800 how is that compared to the 900A which is better? Thanks for your infinite wisdom🙂

The ThermalTake Silent Boost is a clone of the SLK900a, but it uses an 80mm whisper quiet fan from Panaflo. And it cools great. For $30 you can't go wrong.

How does the SLK900A stack up against the ALX800?? I want something that will be able to cool it very well so I can overclock it up to the 3200+ speeds without worrying about temperatures. Anybody here ever purchased the ALX800? Just curious other recommendations are greatly appreciated.

i have an slk900a on my 2500+ @ 3200+, and i am idle at 32c and 37c load...i do have a 92mm tornado, but i have a sunbeam controller and have the dan running at around 7v....so it isn't very loud at all
