I'm doing my taxes and I need my interest earned from my HSBC account and I haven't been mailed anything yet.

I checked my account online and I can't seem to find a link to the tax document. I even sent them a customer service email and have gotten no response.

Anyone know where I can find it?

Thanks.

I got mine. Unless you made more than a certain amount, $20?, they won't send you one.

I made more than $20. Guess I will give them a call then.

Thanks.

if you look on your december statement, does it have a year to date total? if so, that should be the same as what would be on the 1099

as long as you put the right answer on your tax form, it'll work

It gives me the YTD up to 12/26, so it will be off by a little bit.

more than $1 ? you can round anyway

or you can call them, if they have decent customer service they should be able to give you the amount over the telephone and then when they send you the 1099, just stick it with your tax stuff

yeah it'll be more than a $1 hah.

I'm sure I could use the YTD up to 12/26, it'd be somewhat close, but I just want the right numbers and all.

I am currently on hold waiting for a CSR.

ING didn't send one either, however it was available to print from my account page online.

well damn, I just got off the phone w/ HSBC and they gave me 2007 interest and once I put that into my taxes, what I owed the govt jumped $200!!! I only made ~$775 in interest in 2007.

Is that right? $200 on a $775 interest gain?

Much depends on your income bracket.
