Go ask how many US blacks would preffer their ancestors have not been brought over to the US? I said slavery was wrong, but to the slaves, not their current progeny in the US. The slaves did suffer, but their descendants of nowadays have benefitted from living in the US instead of West Africa. If you think they would have been better off living in Africa, why don't you immigrate there?

If the US was not a racist country much of the discussion about slavery would be moot.

Until a qualified Afro-American can be elected president without race being an issue, I think all the people who say racism does not exist or is fostered by Afro-Americans for their benefit should STFU.

All the black presidential candidates so far, except maybe Keyes, have been racebaiters and self proclaimed "civil rights leaders". I think if Colin Powell ran, he would be elected.

Don't forget Indian giving...seemed appropriate in this discussion. Oh well, a look at the top threads still show that cheap 18in LCDs are more important than talking about God or racism. Have a nice night all. BTW, if that kid can't get a caucasion club going, I think they should join the NAACP who's fighting its formation, and try to understand why they are so against it. Just my $0.02.

Yes because whites are always guilty.

Here's a few thing thats white's have accomplished. Oh, and this list isnt just American whites.

-Brits controlling India/China
-Slavery n' Segregation (ofcourse)
-Jewing the Indians outta their land

Good job on showing us your prejudices there Sparky.

I myself am black and do believe that there shouldn't be a problem with this kid who wants to start a causcasian club. This is very much so a double standard IMO. Having read through most of the 14pgs or stuff I have read so many dumb a** comments regarding race.

The fact of the matter is race will always be an issue in our soceity and being a minority you will always face racism in some way or another. I have just learned to live with knowing that the White Man will always be large and in charge. Im just happy I have at least the same oppurtunity to make something of myself in today's soceity :D although most can't say the same thing due to there social class.

I consider this a violation of both California and the United States' anti-discrimination laws - the school is prohibiting the establishment of a club based on the person's perceived race (actually, just her skin color, which I find even more insulting).

For CA, look up the Unruh Civil Rights Act.

For the Federal government, look up Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Claim racism.

And you obviously never thought about it either. Stop trying to promote racial segregation. If you must be with your own race, you can catch the next flight out of here. Screw these indentifiers: Asian, Black, Hispanic. There should be only one: American. When the census lady came the other day, she could plainly see I was ...............

Thats so simple and makes so much sense some people just refuse to see it because everything has to have convoluted reasoning and a hidden meaning and blah blah blah..........

Kudos to a true American.

Like my friends and I always say.
If you are a white, 18 to 60 something, straight, healthy, male, you have the least amount of rights and abilities.

Just so noby gets the wrong idea, I'm not saying we're repressed by any means, we just don't get any special favors. No "Your being racist/sexist!" or "But I have this condition.."

Why else were all of the african american (for the sake of being PC) students allowed to wear bandannas or those condom things on their heads at my public high school, while if anyone else even wore a baseball cap they got a teacher up their butt about it? ALL headware (especially bandannas/rags) were against the dresscode. Somebody tell me how day to day life like that is fair.

Already here, it's called FOX News
And there's already a Caucasian Club; it's called "Idaho".

Sorry, didn't know you needed the help. Title VI http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/cor/coord/titlevi.htm

Overview of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Title VI, 42 U.S.C. § 2000d et seq., was enacted as part of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. As President John F. Kennedy said in 1963:
Simple justice requires that public funds, to which all taxpayers of all races [colors, and national origins] contribute, not be spent in any fashion which encourages, entrenches, subsidizes or results in racial [color or national origin] discrimination.

If a recipient of federal assistance is found to have discriminated and voluntary compliance cannot be achieved, the federal agency providing the assistance should either initiate fund termination proceedings or refer the matter to the Department of Justice for appropriate legal action. Aggrieved individuals may file administrative complaints with the federal agency that provides funds to a recipient, or the individuals may file suit for appropriate relief in federal court. Title VI itself prohibits intentional discrimination. However, most funding agencies have regulations implementing Title VI that prohibit recipient practices that have the effect of discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin.

To assist federal agencies that provide financial assistance, the wide variety of recipients that receive such assistance, and the actual and potential beneficiaries of programs receiving federal assistance, the U.S. Department of Justice has published a Title VI Legal Manual. The Title VI Legal Manual sets out Title VI legal principles and standards. Additionally, the Department has published an Investigation Procedures Manual to give practical advice on how to investigate Title VI complaints. Also available on the Coordination and Review Website are a host of other materials that may be helpful to those interested in ensuring effective enforcement of Title VI.

Problem is, no one will sue for this. I suppose someone could send an anonymous complaint.
Hit 'em in the wallet. Ouch!

A local NAACP leader says Lisa McClelland's proposed club smacks of racial division

Isn't that an oxymoron? or just a moron?

Let it happen, or ban any racial organization, including the NAACP.

I was disqualified from Hispanic scholarships, because I don't look Hispanic, or live a Hispanic lifestyle, whatever the fvck that is. My dad caught a lot of sh1t for being president of the local Hispanic society (an unpaid position, mind you), because we have a German surname. But I guess being born in South America doesn't matter either. Fvcking asshats. I'll sign the fvcking petition, and so will my Sri Lankan wife.

Hello, did you fail History in HS or something?

When has the "white" people not oppressed minorities in America? I guess you forgot about the Separate but Equal years, and don't believe in Equal Pay for Equal Work.

Funny that the article mentions being proud of your heritage's history.
rolleye.gif
Yeah, be proud of your history of oppression.

Its more socially acceptable for minorities to have these types of clubs because OMG they are minorities. :Q

And it's bad for us to have a club to learn from our ancestors mistakes. Oh wait, WE should pay for their mistakes. Thanks asshat.

America is the "land of the free and the home of the brave." This gives anyone who is an American Citizen the right to express his or her views in a manner consistent with their local and federal laws. If a percentage of America's population wants to create an organization (Black Student's Association) designed to participate in community/campus advancing events, they have the right to do so without question. This also holds true for Asian, Indian, and YES, White Student's running an organization. The problem with creating a White Student's Association is the stigma that will be placed on it. It has already evident (in this tread) that there are ignorant people that will view such organization as being a Ku Klux Klan club. However, this would not be the case. They would simply be carrying out activities and other similar events held by the Black Student's Association. This would lead one to wonder why is there a need for segregated organizations...
