HS Student pushes to start caucasian club, meets resistance

I tried to start Whites in Computer Science and Engineering at Rutgers a few years back.

Had all the paperwork and everything ready to go but no one would sponsor us.. even though there is a group of Latino's in CS, women in CS, and blacks in CS.

So they have a Black Student Union and an Asian Club, but they're not allowed to have a White Club? Can someone please make a compelling argument for why that is OK? Because in my simple mind, all I see is a double standard.

This is why I think any use of race in anything other than as a personal descriptive (comparable to blond hair, etc) should be illegal. Period.

there already is a whites only club. its called the KKK. its the reason why things like this are looked down apon. I know is stupid. having pride in your race if your a minority is great. but if you try and have white pride your a raciest.

Well the KKK doesn't just have pride in their race. I don't think that comparison works.

I think that if a school allows other racial clubs then I don't see how they can argue against a white club.

Not every school has a Tiger. In my highschool we had two black kids in the whole school. At my college, we didn't have any on the golf team. It is by far few and far between seeing a black kid on a golf team.

(besides that, i was kidding.) 🙂
