It's nearing the Early Decision deadline, and I was just wondering, where is everyone applying? And are you applying ED?

I'm applying ED to Wake Forest. I'm pretty confident I can get in, I've taken all Honors/AP classes, accelerated a year in math, varsity for XC/indoor/outdoor track. My SAT scores weren't stellar (700m/590v), but I think they'll be good enough. I've completed the smaller essays, and I'm working on the 2 bigger ones now.

anyone interested in business/CIS should really consider Bentley College.

We are well regarded in the Northeast, have a beautiful campus, and are ranked on Princeton Review as a top business school.

I am a freshman, and I love it so far.

Or the University of Michigan, which just received the #1 ranking AND a $100 million gift from Stephen Ross, an alum of the school.

:)

Guess that's alot less than everyone else...maybe I should apply to more. I'm hoping I get into UF because that is where I really want to go.

I have a 4.08 weighted GPA, 1310 SAT (680 Verbal, 630 Math). I've taken mostly all honors classes throughout HS and 4 AP classes. I'm a little worried about my extracurriculars/community service though. I don't play any sports and haven't been in any clubs consecutively except NHS. I did make a last ditch effort and join Key Club and Computer Club this year though. Only 75 community service hours - bare minimum for bright futures.

Why not go to CAL or UCLA and join the Marines at the same time. Do Marines ROTC and then you can go to school, and become an officer at the same time.

Agh you folks and your expensive schools. I applied to Washington State University's "big" scholarship program with a 1420 (710 split), and a 3.93 GPA and didn't get even a half ride... If there are any easy merits to get, tell us!

EDIT: Schools: (all Early Action except WA in St. Louis)

U of Miami
Central Washington
Washington State
Tulane (accepted, no word on fin aid)
Knox
Cornell College (early aid says $15-17 in merit)
WA in St. Louis

Im applying ED to Carnegie Mellon, MIT(for fun) and Pennstate. After talking with the people at Carnegie Mellon, it seems as though I have a decent shot of getting in. 1240 SATs, 3.8 GPA, Honors/AP classes and I'm an Eagle Scout, I know that will help tons. NHA, FBLA, I placed 3rd in a state competition for FBLA, computer applications. Varsity sports, a bunch of other things too, but don't need to take up to much space. I fell in love with Mellon when i got there, it is such a gorgeous place and 7th in the country for my major. Has anyone else ever been there?

Heh. I have a (personal) interest at CMU so .. yeah. Beautiful place, so I've heard. Plan on visiting frequently later.. while I still can (if I don't get in).

If I had a 3.5 or something I'd have much higher hopes of getting in but as it is .. haha. It's almost funny :p

Yea I have 3.8 unweighted so weighted its pretty high, they say they dont care so much about SAT's though as good people and well rounded people that can do things across a broad spectrum, not just nerd around and get good grades. They want people that can build the robot without snapping their wrists while using a screwdriver :) haha.
