I recently purchased a surplus X4000 CAD workstation with a fire GL4 video card:

My isse is I really would like to swap out the fire GL4 card for quieter card. The coolers on the GL4 sound like a jet engine. I tried putting my Asus V7100 GeForce MX2 card in the machine but the machine will not boot, and I can't even get to the bios config...completely blank screen with this card.
the X4000 has an AGP 4x pro 110 watt video card slot. The Asus V7100 is an AGP 4X card with the indicator key. Everything I have read indicates the Asus card should work in an AGP 4x pro slot. What am I doing wrong? Is it somekind voltage issue?
The other question is what is a halfway decent 3d gaming video card that will work in this machine and not cost more than a hundred bucks or so?
