I got this on order, and its going to be here tomorrow, but I am confused on one thing.
On the invoice, the memery says 256mb DDR SDRAM.
At first I thought this could be regular desktop memory, and was stoked. But a compatriot of mine pointed out it is most likely DDR SDRAM SODIMM.

So.

I obviously won't be overclocking, but I only chose the 256mb standard, so I didn't have to pay an exhorbitant amount of money for 1gig.

Any memory information regarding types, hp-compatibility, centrino vs. memory bus speeds, and any other info goodies, would be greatly appreciated.

System (Hewlett Packard, obviously):
CTO Pavilion zt3000 series notebook
- Pentium(R) M 1.5GHz
- Microsoft(R)Windows(R) XP Home
- 256MB DDR SDRAM(1X256MB)
- 40 GB 4200 RPM Hard Drive
- Microsoft(R) Works/Money (upgrading upon arrival)
- DVD Drive
- Intel(R)Pro Wireless 2100/BT/54g
- 15.4" WVA WSXGA+ (1680x1050)
- 64MB Mobility Radeon(TM) 9200
- 8 Cell Lithium Ion battery
- hpshopping in-box envelope

Well, you're going to get a SODIMM.

Just be glad that it's 1x256 instead of 2x128.

Another concern I had, was bus speeds. Can't find much info. What if the 256mb is pc2100. Would it be worth going pc2700 when I upgrade?

It won't make a difference.

No one else has any useful info?

I pulled this from Intel's site, but it doesn't help clear the haze around the answers to my questions:

Intel® 855 Chipset Family (for centrino based notebooks)
Support for up to 2 GB of DDR 333/266/200 memory (DDR 333 available on Intel® 855PM chipset only) enables higher performance and flexibility
