HP x64 Printer Software Installation

Here is another question that I had no luck with the manufacturer's tech support. I have an OfficeJet 5510v, which works okay for simple printing. But the additional software that should have installed along with the drivers never did...namely, the HP Imaze Zone. There are a couple of other programs, but they never did install, so I assumed that was because the x64 driver didn't include these. Another problem that I just found, is that the scanner function isn't working, and it says that the software isn't installed and to contact HP. When I did, they advised me that since the printer was out of warranty, that they would charge me to help. I would expect this on something dealing with replacement or repair, but not simply for some advise.

I really doubt that anyone here can help, unless they have dealt with exactly the same problems, but it can't hurt to ask.

Most of the officejet products have non existent x64 support. Be glad they have a driver now that supports basic printing. Just a few months ago their "advice" was to map to a b&w deskjet for basic 300 dpi black printing support! :disgust:

Thanks, but I find little comfort in thinking about how bad it was in the past. When I first installed this with x64, it worked fine, so it should now.
