HP W2207 Vs. LG L226WT

I was looking at the Dell 2007fpw and the Samsung 226BW, but the panel lottery is on for those two

Thoughts advice, reviews, comparisons greatly appreciated...

If you have any other monitors please feel free to speak up (Not the NEC 20WMGX out of my price range)

I have the LG226WT, but just came to learn that there may be a panel lottery for this LCD as well.

I purchased the LG226WT from Fry's about 2 weeks ago. After finding numerous posts about the 226, I found out it comes in several flavors...the 226WT and 226WTQ.

After consulting with a few people, apparently the 226WT is the preferred version for gaming, as the 226WTQ does suffer from ghosting.

I have the 226WTQ, and have noticed some ghosting, but only when working against a very light or bright background.

From what I can gather, Best Buy definitely carries the 226WT.

The good news is unlike Samsung or Dell, you can check the outside of the box to see which panel you are getting. At the time of my purchase, I was not aware of the panel variants, so didnt even know to check.

I may hold onto the panel I have, as it is still an amazing monitor. Even with the panel lottery consideration thrown into the mix, the LG226WT is probably the best 22" gaming LCD.

I have both the w2207 and l226wt (although I don't have room to put them side by side) and they both have their pros/cons...if you're specifically talking about gaming, I feel the w2207 is better in that the screen type allows for a bit more "pop" than the l226wt...the LG appears to have slightly better color accuracy while the w2207 has less banding...I don't think you can go wrong either way...

Thanks, oh and I was aware of the panel lotto for the LG L226WT not really a problem if you check the box before purchase

Not completely sure, but I saw an HP 20" with a glossy screen that looked incredibly. Heard the 22" is also glossy so I myself could be swayed by that if it weren't for the mad glare...

There is definitely a bit of a reflection but not enough where you can't see the whole screen...I don't even notice it unless I'm looking for it actually...

I had the W2207 for a few days and then I returned it. I am getting the W2007 instead. Somehow I how I feel the 2007 looks better than 2207. Does anyone notice the same thing?

I very pleased with my hp2207, and the glare doesn't seem to be a problem even if it's placed in a bright room.
