Hi.

I have a Vectra VL6 350 Serial 8 DT. I'm not too sure of my way around the MOBO as I've only just bought this PC. The MOBO ref seems to be S630TTS27281 D5899 - 6000. There is also a ref. NL91102894 and D5 880T ABUWB M.

I recently changed the CD ROM drive and now the PC powers on, but I cannot get a signal from my monitor. I have tried a different monitor but still no joy. I have a Voodoo 2 Graphics card with a PCI fitting and thought that this may be the problem. However, the MOBO seems to have it's own built in card.

Any thoughts or advice? !

Pop out the Voodoo and hook the monitor up to the SVGA jack on the mobo header. If you get video to the monitor you on your way to the solution. I am only speaking from my experience with a Compaq DeskPro, but when I tried adding a vid card to the PCI slot I lost all video output. I was able to deactivate the on-board video through BIOS (F10) and use my Matrox vid card. Could be a similiar config with the HP. Try it. There may also be a jumper somewhere on the mobo to deactivate the on-board video. You may need to nose around a little, or, as a last resort, contact HP.

I took out my Voodoo Card, but still no screen action. However, your suggestion on checking the BIOS / CMOS worked a treat! I switched over No.1 switch (jumper?) on the HP Mobo and the monitor sprung to life!

Thanks again
