Hp tx1000

I'm having trouble with my hp tx1000 tablet display. At first the screen would only display every 3rd or 4th time of booting up and most of the time wouldn't come back on after waking from sleep mode.

I did some hunting around online and most people say its an issue at the swivel connection point of the screen. I just want to make sure if this sounds like a screen issue or a motherboard issue. I could pick up a replacement screen and fix that.

Now the problem is the screen will hardly every come on when booting up and never does when waking from sleep mode.

What do you guys think?

Ask any questions you need, and thanks in advance 🙂

The screen itself may be OK but the cables passing threw the swivil joint may be going bad.

So this would require a new screen to fix then correct?

You won't know till you open it up and see what may be going on in that hinge. If there is no visible damage to the cable and it looks like its not getting pulled out of its connection points on the screen and the main board then it may be the screen itself. If it is just the cable then all you may need is a new cable. You could even find that the cable is just comming loose from one side or the other and resetting it fixes the problems.

Thanks for all the help. 🙂

Now I just need to find a tutorial on how to open this thing up and take the screen off. Google hasn't been finding much for me.
