A lady at our store got at least 3. She paid people to get them.

Some fml here, checked last night and all BB showed oos. This morning 4 had updated to available. Checked at opening time and a 5th flagged to available. Hurricane must be slowing buyers but sure they'll all be gone before I get off.
Honestly, I went to my Best Buy at around 2:45, and they were selling them. There was a stack of about 5-6 on the table, and there were only 2-3 people in front of me.
That's not including the fact that the girl that rang me out pulled one from under the register which means they had more. Also, they had their supply room door open which means they were bringing them out as they started to run out. So they definitely had a bunch of them there. That was on Wednesday. I think you'll be able to get one if you head to Best Buy today.

Our BB sold out within an hour and a half of being open yesterday, and we got 43 on the truck. There is absolutely no guarantee of getting one, and trucks come in at different times, and unless you live in an area where people are clueless, you're going to be very hard pressed to find them.
The BB I was at was giving multiple units to people as well. The guy in front of me took three 16s and three 32s.shens.

Hmmm...drive ~100 miles r/t to get a 32GB? I've read most people aren't getting straight answers about stock levels when calling BB's, and that even if they have it at the time you call, they won't hold it for you. Should I take a drive?
I personally wouldn't drive 100 miles for one. I did drive about 30 miles (~40 min drive) for one though, and by the time I got there they were sold out. I figured I used a quarter tank of gas for the round trip, so I wasted about $10 and 1.5 hours doing that so I wasn't too upset. 100 miles for no guarantee I wouldn't do. Unless they tell you they have at least 50 in stock and they aren't selling too fast, you can get there before people leave work, etc. I don't think it would be worth it.
I don't know if they would purposely give you an optimistic answer over the phone if it weren't true though, since they probably don't want a ton of people showing up asking for something that is gone. Then again, the person on the phone might not know what the stock is if they are going fast.
I'm really surprised that some BB are allowing multiple purchases per person, I'm SO glad mine didn't because I wouldn't have gotten one.
Dear god this thing sips battery like no other device I've seen. A day later and it's still sitting at > 80% charge.
I've been using an old iPad 1 case for my TouchPad, and I decided maybe I should get a real one. So, I tried to pick up a case from HH Gregg using a price match, and it said it was in stock, but said stock was reserved already. :\ The guy told me that they couldn't actually price match Office Depot because HP wouldn't let them go that low (it was already marked to $25 vs OD's $20). They have some in a warehouse, so I'll just check back tomorrow.
Yeah, HHGregg are a bunch of asshats. I went yesterday looking for touchstones, they had one, but wanted full retail for it and said HP blah blah. I told them HP nothing - they're selling them direct online for $40.
Not to mention it took 20 minutes for me to get one of a dozen floor guys just to notice me and come over.

HHGregg is terrible (from my personal experience). I didn't think it was possible to be worse than Best Buy, but they manage to.
I had no idea that they had Touchstones in there.
The only explanation that I can muster for the whole "HP said we can't" reason is that HP is fronting the difference if they sell for below cost.
I could have probably complained a bit that it was going against the price matching policy, but I wouldn't really push a price matching matter if the person seems hesitant. There are probably stipulations about the competitor actually having it in stock or ensuring it is being sold in the store for that price. For example, I could have showed him walmart.com that had it for $19 (and was in stock within a 20 mile radius), but the store may not have had the same price (Wal-Mart won't price match walmart.com either).
I waited about 5 minutes or so, but it was certainly worse at Best Buy yesterday... I waited probably around 10 minutes just to see if they had any accessories.
I should be getting my Touchstone on Monday, so that will be nice.![]()

How is the case? The local OD has them on sale for $20, so I may pick one up if it's any good.my tp hasn't arrived yet, but the case showed up with regular mail today.
