HP Scanjet 3200C for only 29.99

At Staples, the HP Scanjet 3200 C is listed for 79.99, HP is offering a mail in rebate for 50.00 off, which brings the total to 29.99 plus tax. The only problem with this scanner is that HP does not offer the right drivers or programs to operated the scanner for Windows 2000 Professional. There is a solution for this. You can download the software and programs from Umax. Just download everything for their Astra 2200 model scanner and everything will work fine.

The Scanjet 3200 C isn't that shabby of a scanner, 1200 x 600 dpi.

Another thing, I am not sure whether this is valid at every store. It was in the circular for the North Main Street store in Providence, RI.

Can you supply some links. I try to search and the only thing I can find is 3300cse for $79.97 or if you purchase the hp 2200 inkjet printer for $499 you get the 3300cse for free.

where did you see the rebate for this? at hp's web site for rebates it says it about the 3300's+ not the 3200. I would buy this if i got the rebate.

The scanner itself is good (i.e. resolution, speed etc), but the "Lite" software that comes with it is simply pain in the a$$.
And unfortunately you cannot use any other software/driver, like those comming with Photoshop or Acrobat.
Except you "upgrade" to the full version of it.
Really not recommended.

OD has the 3300C for the final price of $29.99. They have the 3200C for $58.98. I got mine @ Staples with $25 off $75 B&M and will get the $50 from Staples. So OD has these.

The scanner is pretty decent, what most people are having problems with is the software and the drivers that come with it. It is not compatible with Windows 2000 Professionaly. But you can download the drivers and the programs for a Umax Astra 2200.

You have to purchase the scanner at a store and they will have the rebate coupon.
