HP Quad Gigabit Ethernet, NC364T, Windows 8 Drivers?

Windows 8 Enterprise does not see my NIC adapter at all in Device Manager. HP Quad Gigabit Ethernet, NC364T

Do I have a driver issue or could the Ebay Adapter be DOA? NIC Firmware issue? Nothing marked yellow/red in Device Manager and nothing missing a driver. Only my onboard Intel NIC is listed under Network Adapters.
HP Only Publishes Windows Server 2008 Drivers which are also listed for Server 2012 for the NC364T. Those drivers will not install at all on Windows 8.

Any Ideas welcome.

HP NC-Series Intel E1E Driver for Windows Server 2008 R2

Update: Intel DP67BG Motherboard using the 2nd PCI-e x16 slot. The BIOS does not see anything in the slot but the link lite does come on when plugging an ethernet cable in.

What are the specs on the PC you're installing this into? One of the ones in your sig? Neither spec has the motherboard listed 🙁

Even if the OS doesn't support it, I would think that device manager should list it.

If the NIC isn't supported on the OS, your mileage may vary, however. I would try a free Linux distro that supports the NIC to see if you can get it to come up.

If you plug a cable into the NIC, do you get a link light at all?

Thanks. Yes its my Intel DP67BG Motherboard with i5-2500k using the 2nd PCI-e x16 slot. That slot was known good since just had a 2nd video card in it a few weeks ago. The BIOS does not see anything in the slot but the link lite does come on when plugging an ethernet cable in. I'll try another computer. How could the motherboard be incompatible?

Expansion capabilities
-One PCI Express* 2.0 x 16 bus add-in card connector or switchable to 2x8 PCIe 2.0 connectors
-Three PCI Express 2.0 x 1 connectors
-Two PCI Conventional bus connectors

That's from the mobo webpage: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-dp67bg.html

what do you have in the first PCI-E slot? If it's the 7970, it's entirely possible that the vga needs x16, and won't run at x8. I looked at Gigabytes website, but it's not clear on if it will run at x8 or not.

You will need to either test with a different VGA, or put the NIC into another PC with a PCI-E slot that's not dependent on another slot.

edit: So according to this: http://www.amd.com/US/PRODUCTS/DESKTOP/GRAPHICS/7000/7970/Pages/radeon-7970.aspx#2

That card requires x16. Your mobo will run one PCIE is x16 or two in x8. You basically can't use the second PCIE x16 slot when you're using the 7970. This is probably the issue.

Tested the Video card in PCI x16 slot #2, in x8 mode.
BIOS did not see anything in PCI x16 slot #1 where I moved the HP quad NIC card. I'm thinking this card is DOA.

Latest BIOS version.

Update, the card worked great and Windows 8 auto detected the drivers in a different AMD System. Wow, and suggestions making this work or a different dual or quad Intel Server NIC that may work better? I need PCI-e NIC that is reasonably priced on ebay where this was just $90.

Why not get two PCIE x1 NICs? The mobo has a couple of those available, and none of them are dependent on the x16 interface.

You could buy two or three single port x1 NICs. There's 3 PCIE x1 slots on the mobo.

Finding a dual port x1 card may prove a challenge, though.

How are you making sure that the x16 slot is working in x8? Those x16's will work in either x16 or x8, NOT x4. The issue is the x16's work in specific configurations that don't include accepting that x4 card.
