HP Photosmart 215 - decent digital camera?

My one teacher from school saw an ad in the paper (USA Today - page 3A) today for a HP Photosmart 215 camera, and saw the cheap price ($129.99) and was wondering if it was a good camera. Here is a product overview page from HP.

Now he doesn't need this to be a killer camera (obviously it isn't) but he just needs something that will take some nice pictures that he could use for Ebay or whatever. Is this a decent camera? And also, about how many pics can the default 4 meg card store? I know this may be the wrong forum but im asking anyway 😉 thanks.

I have that camera, bought it in Jan for 199.99

I like it, easy to use, its not very fancy but it does take good pictures. my 4mb card held about 10 pictures. I then bought a 64 MB card and it will now hold around 80 or so.

pm me with a email address and ill send you some pictures i took with it.

Yuck....I sell cameras at Circuit City, and that camera is by FAR the worst one we have. There is a Sony, the DSCP20, $199, a little more in cost, but MUCH better in quality.

I got mine a few months ago together with a HP 842C printer at CUSA for $70 after MIRs.

It is an entry-level digital camera. I would rate it fair. It is easy to use. However, it does not support (officially - you are WARNED against0 using rechargeable batteries (it is a battery-eater).

Evidently some HPC215s take better pictures than others. Make sure you can return it if you are not satisfied.

For $70 and a printer, it was a good deal.
