HP Pavillion Fan Speed

I'm working on a friend's hp pavilion. The problem looks like a heat issue and I noticed that during startup, before windows loads, the fans are running fast enough that you can hear them, and then, after windows starts the fans slow down to the point that you can't even hear them running.

I can't find where this can be adjusted in bios or in windows, but I may be overlooking something. Is there a way to make them run constantly or is this hardcoded or something?

Thanks!

I myself have a pavillion, and I have yet to find a decent way to ajust most things in the bios, HP locks the fan speed, CPU speed, Ram speed, ect.. at the factory short of flashing the bios there is no way around it, Unless you really know what your doing dont flash the bios, theres no room for error and it is un-reversable, the goes double if it is your friends computer, however my HP's fan does the same thing, has since day one and I havn't had any problems with it, other than the fact that its a pre-built, describe the problem, maybe there is another solution.

Hi, Not familiar with your machine but most fans are temperture controlled and are slowing because the machine is cold. Do they speed up later when the machine is warn?

Good Luck, Jim
