They just showed a video of the "Touch to Share" feature and it really is very cool and obviously no one has that feature. It's really super simple and would be super handy when you just get home from work and want to transfer the site from your Pre 3 on to your Touchpad or leaving and want to finish reading on your Pre 3.

Enter the "Bump" App on iOS and Android... and it works between them too!

The sad thing is they couldn't even figure out an original UI.
1/2 of those apps look like they were taken of OS X (iCal) or the iPad.

Typical Apple fanboyism.

OMG, a calendar app that looks like another calendar app! They copied Apple!

That's not even the same thing. You guys need to watch the video since you obviously haven't.

I've seen the video. Yeah you're right it's not the same thing. BUMP is better. You can share more than just webpages... you can share pictures, videos, music, docs, etc. through bump.

Oh yeah, the only "nuisance" is that you would need to "launch" the app on both phones. This "touch to share" feature is like BUMP running 24/7 as long as your phone is on... that's all.

Automatically sending webpages without needing to touch anything is different than sending links to webpages.

Why the hell do HP think the pre form factor is attractive ??
I mean seriously ??
The design is that of a kiddie toy.
The Pre 3 is very nice in specs but its a pre2 with a larger screen.
I can't understand WTF some of these engineers come up with....
The pre2 was not a success. Why would you design the pre3 exactly like the pre2 ??
Its not as bad as the hellacious Sprint Echo but this does not interest me one bit.
I was looking forward for a cool, sexy WebOS device.

Recently a friend of mine handled my Pre and commented that it looks and feels much nicer than her brick of an iPhone 3. She liked the form factor and so do I. It's very elegant and comfortable in the hand with its rounded corners. The bricks appeal more to male teenagers and we all know how much taste this bunch has. :D

I like the TouchPad but sadly, unless they move the release date WAY up, it will be launched into a market saturated with the iPads and Android 3.0 bads and be the "third wheel." They better do some more thinking on that.

So far despite all these launches, the Playbook is still in first place for me.... I just hope it will be released soon with a nice price. When do you think Anand will get one for review?

Engadget says $500 for wifi version according to a recent post

No offense but I get this reply from Pre users all the time.
You might like it but you are in the minority.
The point is that the design/form factor of a phone has to appeal to most people to be successful.
Obviously the previous version was a failure so why would they try it again ??
WebOS is heavily underdog right now.
The need to come out with a phone that people can go ooooohhhh and aaaaahhhhh.
The Pre3 is not ugly and it has good specs but certainly not something I was looking forward too that fighting for survival.

As a Pre Plus owner I am just disappointed with the the Pre3 and Veer. The Veer is just too small and what it reminds me of, really, is the Kin. Also wtf is with the sub-1000 mAh battery.

As for the Pre3, I just can't get excited for it at all. The screen seems nice but what is up with the physical aspect ratio, it just looks much taller than it should be. The thing that really makes me not like it though is the continuation of the portrait slider, to me a portrait slider is worse than a landscape slider (smaller keyboard) and a slate (heavier, thicker, limited orientation). With a summer release it will be dated before release both in power (Tegra 2) and connectivity (various 4G phones). And now that there is news of HP stopping OTA updates for sub Pre2 phones I just can't stay with webOS.

Seems the Palm faithful on PreCentral are up in arms that any device older than the Pre2 will no longer get OTA updates including WebOS 2.0 that many have been waiting for. If HP wanted a fresh start including ticking off all the people that stuck by them and blindly defended them through thick and thin, they've done a brilliant job.

As a former Palm IIIxe, Sony Clie T615, Palm Lifedrive, and now launch day Palm Pre user. This is exactly what we the palm devoted expect - to be treated like an abused wife.

For me though I' be up for a refreshed ohone from Sprint this summer - it'll be a Pre 3 if they carry it

I love the idea of a mini smartphone. I do think they should ditch the keyboard and fit a 3" screen there by reducing bezel though. Also, 3.5 mm audio connector has to be built in, not a magnetic attachment.

It would be an utter disservice to the industry if everyone just made "me too" phones that fit the stereotype you think should be popular. There should be (and are) phones for all demographics and preferences.

This is just a more than just a popularity contest.
We're talking about the survival of WebOS.
They needed to come out with a hardware that "WOW" people.
The same form factor as the Pre(which failed) is not the answer.

As a current webOS owner (Palm Pre), I will not be getting the next gen hardware specifically because of the hardware. I love the OS but the hardware just feels cheap and plastic. The phone will be be out in the summer which means the hardware will be outdated by then as I expect the dual-core phones will likely be out by then as well.

Only interesting thing that came out for me is that HP is going to put webOS on some laptops later this year.

One more step towards finding Microsoft's body in a dumpster in a few years.

If I was MS, I'd be more worried about Android or iOS than WebOS. I'd be especially worried about Android in embedded devices, tablets, and laptops on top of smartphones.

Again, after looking at more info, the new WebOS devices aren't bad, but at the same time I'm sort of underwhelmed because it needs to be a lot more if it wants to compete with the market share that iOS and Android have. That's not counting RIM's market share. So it's the same thing I said about the new BB devices, they're not bad but I'm not sure they "wow" me enough to say that they'll pull away users who were deciding on an iOS, Android or other device. They'd still be more likely to get iOS or Android vs BB or WebOS.

I still enjoy the Hitler meme's on Youtube but some of these guys need to do some serious editing. A three line subtitle flashes by in like a split second. You have no time to read it.
