I'm seriously tempted to order one of these immediately if they go on sale today. I loved WebOS, if they put some decent hardware behind it it could be great.

The biggest complaint I had about my Pre was the lack of apps (hardware issues were next), but for a tablet I'm mostly looking for a solid couchable web/RSS/email experience.

Ideally of course I'd like to see reviews of it + the Xoom before picking one, but I am really tired of waiting and I can always return it.

So the HP Veer will be available from Verizon tomorrow for pre-order but apparently it's small and tiny.

Fake edit: 2.6" screen. I dunno if I can go back to something that small. Ouch. :(

Re: Touchpad
Video calling, Beats audio

9.7 inch display, 1024 x 768

I wonder what system is used for video calling. Hopefully, Skype or something cross-platform.

Edit: Snapdragon -- dual core 1.2GHz CPU

I'm curious to see if/how much they've improved battery life with WebOS. The life on my Pre was atrocious. If my biggest gripes have improved enough (battery life, hardware) then I'd consider going back after my next renewal. I miss synergy and the powerful-but-simple functionality.

That touchpad looks nice. Better have a great display (IPS, wide viewing angles).

I really hope the app developers embrace WebOS more. I'm literally selling my iPad today and I want something else.

The sad thing is they couldn't even figure out an original UI.
1/2 of those apps look like they were taken of OS X (iCal) or the iPad.

And RIM copied off Palm for the Playbook. Really, all these companies copy off of each other so nothing really new here. If HP can get the apps, I'm getting the TouchPad.

I have been saying webos is dead but hot damn the touchpad looks awesome, if the price is good(nothing like the laughable android tablet prices) it will be a huge hit

I found WebOS to be a good balance between iOS and Android. If HP can market and price it right, I think the people will adopt it. Well, adopt it more than Windows Phone at least... gotta start somewhere. ;)

Also of note, the TouchPad officially supports Flash. :)

Price and apps will be the deciding factor.

Good to see WebOS getting some variation. I'm not too enthused with these products though. Curious to know whats powering the Pre 3.

Touchpad? Meh. 4:3 aspect and low res. Disappointed.

P3: A Qualcomm CPU running at 1.4GHz (!)

As for touchpad, basically standard res for tablets not that big of a deal.

The Pre 3 should've been a little more IMO. The CPU is decent but 512MB of RAM with only 8/16GB storage options. Why no expandable memory?

I hope they announce the TouchPad pricing soon and that HP doesn't follow VZW/Motorola's model with the Xoom.

As for the phones? Unless HP has something in store to make the Pre 3 seem more appealing, I don't see that phone appealing to many beyond the few remaining Palm faithful who wanted better hardware. Looks like they'll get their better hardware, but it will be outdated by the time the phone actually launches. It remains to be seen if webOS is enough to differentiate this product from its competitors; if earlier rounds were any indication, the answer is a resounding "no". Personally I don't see the point of the Veer at all. There simply isn't a market for a shrinky-dink smartphone for current dumbphone users to upgrade to in lieu of a full-featured smartphone with a screen bigger than a postage stamp, especially when those people will be paying for data contracts anyway.

HP's new CEO is having some announcement in March I think. My guess is they unveil why they bought all those cloud services... they want you to rely on a web connection and stream stuff.

Alot of this stuff looks really impressive. The touch to share stuff is pretty cool. I want a Pre because that seems to be the only decent phone with a qwerty kb out there (portrait-wise, don't like landscape).

And 1.4ghz dual core by summer will not make it "behind" in any way. That's where most phones will be at.
