HP Openview

try here. It is a very powerful and infinitely complex set of applications. I personally can't do without it.

openview

ps - when you gonna get a job rubicone so you can play with all this stuff?

I am already using a great deal of this networking stuff as it is. But what are the diffferences between HP Openview and say the Network Inspector?
In terms of actual emmployment in the field the only openings I see are for individuals who are certified and/or have actual work experience. Although I have seen one or two job postings for shift work that would conflict with my current studies which I hope to complete by the end of the year. Are you offering a position at where you are currently employed by any chance? If so PM me.

openview is an entire suite of applications used to manage a network. From basic connecitivty to threshold and alerting/logging. Generally used as a MOM (manager of managers) where all the separate element managers report to openview via plugins or SNMP traps.

Very powerful and flexible, used by just about anybody with a good sized netowork (over 30-40 routers) that has an OPS center.

hope this helps...real network management is very deep and hard to describe in this context. I've never heard of network inspector so I can't comment.
