Hello, I got an old PC I would like to still use for certain tasks, however I would like upgrade it.

Can I install 4GB ram, is it DDR or DDR2?
What fastest CPU can I use? Can I use
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium_M/Intel-Pentium M 780 RJ80536GE0512M - LE80536GE0512M.html

Wow, still working after 11 years? Since it's an old and very slow relic from the distant past you might be better off spending $99-$149 on an off-lease Dell from this decade.

A Google search should tell you the DDR type (Crucial.com memory selector might do this), and possibly whether or not the CPU is replaceable or soldered in place.

That data is also available in the specs dump he posted. :)

It's DDR1 and the CPU is soldered. So, yeah, no upgrades.

You must stop smoking weed my friend, the CPU and RAM is replaceable. Like in any other PC from the past.

Hmm, could have sworn when I checked the CPU was soldered. But that said, it's still not worth upgrading. It maxes out at 2Gb RAM and he's got 1.2Gb installed.

Good luck finding 2gb ddr1 so-dimms... ;)

I guess ebay has a bunch of m 770 and 1gb sodimms for dirt cheap. ~$5 could get you both shipped from china.
