Quick question to anyone currently using this monitor... My primary use will be for photo editing with a dual-link DVI desktop at native resolution. No issues.

I have two questions. First, regarding use of this at non-native resolutions. I understand it has no internal scaler, so basically it's up to the graphics card to do this? In practice, how does this affect day to day use, especially for odd game or two?

Second, wondering what would happen when someone attempts to use it with a non Dual-Link DVI connection. Will it work at all, will it only show partial resolution, etc? Or will it just not work at all?

Edit: And lastly, if anyone has tested HDCP compliance over DVI2, I'd love to hear what you found out.

Scaling works well for me, though it's worth pointing out that ATI does not currently support fixed aspect ratio scaling, so if you want a resolution scaled up to native without changing the aspect ratio the resoultion has to be 16:10. Quite frankly the scaling is really good if you enable AA, at least it was in two worlds, haven't tried in any other games.

With a single-link DVI connection I believe you could still use it at 1280x800, but I haven't tried it.

HDCP works well for me, playing HD DVDs with PowerDVD on a Radeon 2900XT. It's important to check that the graphics card supports HDCP over dual-link DVI though. I know (from seemingly reliable sources) that the 8800 GTX/GTS (old version) does not support it.

Thanks for the reply. That does sound promising for non native use. As for the HDCP compliance, that's good news as well. Now to decide if my budget can justify that beast... It sure is pretty...

Scaling is arguably better than other sizes of LCD thanks to its higher pixel density, but I think it's highly subjective. There is definitely difference between native resolution and other resolutions. How much difference is acceptable is purely up to the individual, IMO.
I've tried to using single-link DVI but the monitor didn't show any picture. But that was using a single-link DVI cable as well as single-link DVI port on the video card. So it could be different if either of them is dual-link.
