I was manually feeding standard 20 lb. sheets into the HP4M I've had since 1993 and I could see the sheet was going in crooked. I pulled it back out and a small portion of a corner of the sheet tore off and remained in the printer. It's about 1/2 a square inch, just the corner of the sheet, pretty small, but I'm afraid it will spell trouble. I immediately turned off the printer when the problem occurred. I deleted the print job, pulled out the cartridge and didn't see anything. Turning on the printer it doesn't detect the problem (says Ready). I'm afraid to print. Maybe that little piece of paper will work its way out but I figure it may cause some kind of problem instead. How can I deal with this? Do I remove the printer (some work, the way it's situated) and see if I can get at the tiny piece of paper from the back? I think that right now it's just in advance of where the paper feeds in when you do Manual Feed printing. The sheet I pulled out had unfused toner on it in places. Thanks for any help.
